Peas Uttapam, like most of my recipes were a seasonal experiment. Well!! What that means is peas is in season so I thought why not to make something colourful , healthy and easy for everyone. Kitchen is like a laboratory for me and I enjoy creating my recipes which are simple to follow and don’t take much ingredients to source. Peas Uttapam happens to not just have peas but also sprouted moong to add more nutrition and fibre to the whole recipe. the taste is great and the little bit tweaking can also help you make dosa out of this same batter, which I am sure you would enjoy as much.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Green Peas
  • 1/2 cup Sprouted Moong
  • 1 tbsp Oats
  • 1/2 tsp Green Chilli
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Tomato
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Onions
  • 1/2 tsp Flax Seeds Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Sesame Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Paste
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger Paste
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Oil

Instructions

  1. 1

Take a mixer grinder and make a paste of Peas, Sprouted Moong, Oats, Green Chilli, Ginger & Garlic Paste and Salt with some 1/4 cup of water. It should have a semi running consistency like Dosa batter.

  2. 2

Add flax seed powder, tomato & onions and into this and give it a nice mix.

  3. 3

Heat the pan with little oil (you can simple brush it a bit) and pour the mixture on the pan and cook on slow and once its down on one side flip on the other. You can also cover and cook but at the end it the outer layer get crispy.

  4. 4

Serve it with your favorite chutney. This will be very soft from inside and depending on how thick layer have you made. Use the same batter to even make dosa and it turns out yummy.
