Sama Pulav is ideally eaten during fasting. Sama also know as Barnyard Millets is a types of ancient grain which now is getting popular otherwise too. While many of us love experimenting with millets, you must try Sama as well. The recipe here posted is very simple but you can actually make it like regular rice with whole masalas and onions too. I would soon post that version of Sama Pulav too but today sharing a simple fasting recipe and incase you don’t eat green veggies ( I do for Mondays though) just use diced potatoes.

I teamed it up with cucumber raita and the combination tasted good together. You can enjoy this with some green chutney too. Remember to serve it hot and enjoy it with your choice of salad if you want. Combinations are many but making Sama Pulav is quite simple for sure. Adding a dash of mint leaves and lemon juice gives it more taste. Remember Sama itself won’t have any remarkable taste so when you bring different seasonings together it goes quite well.

I wonder why did I not try these tiny pearls which can be cooked so easily, however make sure you take care of the water content. That ratio of Sama to water is very critical, so please read it carefully.
