Sattu Modak is one easy recipe which you must try this Ganpati.

Sattu is basically flour made out of roasted chana and that makes it highly nutritious. This flour is not just gluten free, but rich in protein , fibre and many more micro nutrients. Sattu Modaks come out really well and taste almost like Besan Ladoo. Considering both are made out of Chana!

Difference is that in Sattu the chana is pre roasted hence for the recipe you don’t really have to spend lot of time roasting it. In North india its called poor man’s food as most farmer drink this with sugar for instant energy and for strength.

So these Sattu Modak’s are little fragile, hence adding raisins helps in combining them. You can add dates too but that changes the colour a lot. If you don’t want raisins then you can add more warm ghee for binding it together. I prefer raisins in my Modaks however.

Since Ganpati is around you must not miss this recipe of Sattu Modak. These modaks can easily be had at any point of day and you can still enjoy the goodness. To store, keep them in air tight container and they stay good for 3-4 days easily.
